There is nothing like a warm piece of fresh homemade bread. But when I say fresh, I'm referring to using flour that has been freshly milled and still contains all its life giving nutrients which are So Vital to Good Health!
The Best, the Freshest & most Nutritious Ingredients
Because I want the best, the freshest and the most nutritious ingredients, every recipe calling for flour or cornmeal on this site uses freshly milled grains, corn and beans. I mill my own flour in my own kitchen with my own grain mill. (BTW, you can too!) You can't get any fresher than that!
See, once any grain is milled (cracked open) you have about 72 hours-ish before 90% of the nutrients are GONE. Yes, gone! They oxidize away. Also, when the wheat and other grains are sifted at the millers they sift out ALL the bran, middlings, germ and germ oil; all of which contain the bulk of the grain's nutrients. So, basically all the flour and breads made from pre-milled sifted grains are dead. Yep, dead! They have very little nutritional value left. Sooo, pretty much anything made with flour or meal at the grocery store is dead, no nutrition; but, they do add plenty of chemicals and preservatives for your enjoyment. Hmmm? That can't be good. Hence, I mill my own 100% healthy, nutrient dense, good-for-you flours and meals at home. And, so can can you!
If you don't mill your own flours and meals yet, simply replace the called-for measure in my recipes with unbleached all-purpose flour and cornmeal. I encourage you to make the switch to make your own bread-full of life giving nutrients. It is so easy; you can do it! Click here to get started.
